2. THE MAIN TOPIC
Conversation A – close family:
Tell me more about your close family, please.
Do you have children / parents / grandparents / grandchildren? How old are they, where do they live, what are their jobs/hobbies, can they speak languages, what is interesting about them?
Who is the oldest / youngest / most clever / most active / most problematic member of your close family?
Conversation B – other family members and free time:
Do you have a big family? Are there many aunts/ uncles/ cousins in your family?
Are you married or single? Do you have a mother-in-law/father-in-law/ brother-in-law? What is your relationship to them? How often do you see them?
How much time do you spend with your family? What do you do together? What is the best experience that you have ever had with your family? Why?
Does your family sometimes organize family reunions? How often / why / where? What do you think about these meetings?
Conversation C – generally about family:
Why is family so important in our lives? What does your family mean to you?
Do you sometimes argue/ have problems/ feel bad in your family? Why? How can we solve negative situations in our families?
Do you have any common dreams with your family? What exactly and when would you like to realize them?
Please, start with the conversation A and then you can continue with B and C. You don´t have to discuss all the questions if you don´t want / you can ask some other questions if you like.
Every piece of these conversations (A, B, C) should take minimally 10 minutes, but can be as long as you want.
Ask your parner any additional questions which interest you.
Thank your parner for the conversation.
You can as well arrange for the next common meeting.
